The Junior Financial Analyst is responsible for financial and KPI planning, budgeting & maintaining rolling forecasts to drive valuable insight into the business performance. Reporting to our Senior Director of FP&A, this key role will work closely with business leaders to provide data-driven decision support across all functions of the company and enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support month-end closing and general ledger account analysis and reconciliation.
  • Analyze fiscal variances and prepare reporting packages that clearly articulate the narrative for occurrences within the business
  • Assist with the annual budget including estimates of expenditures, projections of revenue, consultation and informational reports working with key stakeholders, and consolidating data for analysis for management and key stakeholders presentations.
  • Perform frequent audits and reviews of financial records, operations, and system data.
  • Audit Partner financial statements.
  • Conduct scenario modeling to help structure licensing deals.
  • Prepare ad-hoc and financial reports for the purposes of reporting to and participating in meetings with both internal and external management and stakeholders.
  • Create advanced modeling techniques via complex formula development in Excel to enhance forecasting accuracy modeling and margin analysis.
  • Cannabis Economics & Tax Structure
  • Other duties and projects as encountered and/or directed.

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Experience in CPG or retail sectors, or any job whose responsibility included consolidations and planning for expansion of multiple locations with varying profiles.
  • A blend of large company training with more entrepreneurial experience that required a pace and level of flexibility rarely found in large organizations.
  • Experience implementing and working with large scale ERP platforms & financial planning software tools (Sage, SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, etc.).
  • Experience with management of fixed assets, inventory and/or complex supply chains.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills and the ability to execute on both tactical detail and the big picture.
  • Extremely organized, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a natural self-starter
  • Solid track record of successful team collaboration with the ability to own and drive projects while also supporting team members on various tasks.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit that thrives in a demanding, dynamic, and fast-paced environment with the ability to roll up your sleeves and get any job done – no matter how big or small.
  • Experience with Tableau or other BI dashboards.
  • Passion for Cookies and the cannabis industry is a big plus.

This is a full-time position with the ability to work remotely. Our team and company-operated retail locations are primarily located in California, we are open to applicants located in the Western United States that can work on Pacific time.
